MOM Down

Hello Friends.

Bawhahahhhaha.  Hahahhahha.  OK OK, let me catch my breath.  OK,OK,OK.  Hehehhehhehe.  No seriously.  OK.  So yesterday MOM picked me up at Bert's place.  MOM gets there and all the doggies greet her like they always do.  She pets every single one of them.  Bert of course grabs his ball.  Crazy thing is he sooooo wants the ball to be thrown, yet he will not give it up.  Miss Vickie says it has something to do with me getting the ball and teasing him.  Anyway, here is a short video how it all went down last night.  Enjoy.

Bawhahhahhahhahaa.  In all the craziness we managed to send MOM tumbling to the floor.  Hahhahhaha.  I am surprised Miss Vickie was able to get photos of it all she was laughing so hard.  It's always good times at Bert's place.

Stick Friends

Hello Friends.

Yesterday my pack friends gathered for a little adventure at the river.  As you may know I am at a stage in my life I am no longer can join them.  Don't worry friends it's OK it's just apart of life.  I told my MOM to go ahead and go without me, it would be OK.  Then I suggested that she should take Bert's mom.  Not Miss Vickie butt Bert's K-9 mom.  See when Miss Vickie heard that those who had Bert's mom decided to get rid of her because she was no longer "useful" she rushed right over and brought her back home to her Golden Boy Bert.  And now she is living the life every dog should live.  My MOM agreed to take Momma on the pack walk.

This is Bert's Momma.  Isn't she beautiful?  Yes she is.  And she was so happy that my MOM took her on the pack walk.

Butt I gotta say friends I was a little worried about something.  See when we go on our walks I am the one to save the sticks.  Butt now that I am unable to go on these adventures I just kept wondering what would happen to all those sticks in need of rescue.  When MOM got done with the walk and picked me up from Bert's place she had a surprise for me.  Want to see what it is?

Is that just wonderful?!!!  My friends, led by my buddy Bert, have picked up where I left off.  They are rescuing STICKS!  MOM said every time someone saw a stick in need they would jump right in and all the others would cheer him or her on saying, "Do it for Goose!"  I gotta say when I saw all my friends saving sticks in my honor I got a tear in my eye.  I love you guys.  The only thing that could be better is if I could be there with you all.

Now I can sleep better at night knowing that my work continues through all of you.  I could not ask for better friends.
Blessings,
Goose

Safe Shelter

Hello Friends.

Many of you know that me and MOM are heavily involved at St. Anne's Homeless Center.  MOM has served on the board of directors for about 14 years.  And for over the last two years my MOM has worked for St. Anne's.  Specifically she is the kitchen manager.  Everyday (almost) she cooks for those who are in need, whether they are homeless or just need a hot nutritious meal to help make ends meet.  MOM says there is no greater job than feeding those who are hungry.  And for those who have followed me for a while to answer a question you may have, Yes my MOM still works at our church as well.

I want to show you something very exciting.  It's right here on my paws.  Butt first a little back ground.  Some years ago during a brutal snow storm it was seen that people waiting to get into the shelter would wait until the last minute, then they were seen putting something in these school like lockers that were donated and left outside.  What were they putting in there you might be wondering.  Well my friends they were putting their pets in the lockers so they would be safe during the night and keep them out of the weather.  Is your heart breaking yet?  Well I tell you what, in broke my MOM's heart as well as the director of the Center.  It was about that time that St. Anne's was beginning to plan for the building of a new facility that would better serve the community.  And while it was met with a little resistance it was decided that apart of the new facility would be a pet area.  It was also decided that until that day came, pets would be allowed in at night (and at lunch time) with their people at the current faclity.  Beginning in May St Anne's will begin moving into its new facility which will be called Lantern House (although MOM's kitchen will still be called St. Anne's Kitchen).  And here is the exciting news (as if that was not enough).

Look right here.  Can you see that?  I have highlighted it in yellow.  Need a closer look?

How's this?  This my friends is the pet area at the Lantern House.  That highlighted part is a heated and cooled building with 18 big kennels!!  And there is of course access to an outdoor area with GRASS.

OMD!!  As far as we know, please correct me if I am wrong, butt we believe it is the only homeless shelter that has a pet area.  Do you know what this means?  It means that families can stay together as the people get back on their feet.  It means that there is a safe place for their pets to stay as they go out seeking employment or attend classes and programs to help them.  It means that those who would not stay at a shelter because they would not or could not leave their pet will now feel comfortable to step inside knowing that their companion is welcome as well.

I know that many of you have supported this with your prayers and green papers and believe me when I say MOM and I could never thank you enough.  Ours hearts are overwhelmed with gratitude!!  Thank You!  Thank YOU!  If anyone still wants to help out, we are still a little bit short of total funding, you can click on that St. Anne's box at the top of the screen and when you donate just put down it's for the pet area.  Butt don't you worry friends even though we are short of total funding this IS being built and I can't wait to give you all a tour.
Blessings,
Goose

My friends, they crack me up.  That photo is so so funny.  Thank you Bert, Annie and Miss Sophie.  I love the dragon and groovy ball.  But the photo, that was to much. hahhahhaha

Then I had PIE!!!!  The beautiful Miss Lydia sent me a birthday pie, all for me.  So I gathered my stuffie friends, they sang happy birthday to me and then I got to dive into my PIE.

Dog oh Dog was it Goooooood.  In the morning MOM made me eggs and turkey bacon.  Yummmm.  For dinner she made me a buffalo burger with cheese and fresh peas.  During the day we played and hugged and MOM took a nap with me.  We took a slow walk together and I read all of your cards again.  Thank you thank you for being a part of it all.

It's My Birthday

Hello Friends.

Well 15 years ago today I entered this world.  Just a little itty bitty Wiem.  It is true that the first 6 months of my life were not the best.  I was abandoned TWICE.  Butt then that fateful day that I just know was blessed by God my MOM walked into my life and we have walked together ever since.

Over the last two weeks I have shared with you the gifts I have received and here are some more from Wyatt & Stanzie, Bailey, Hazel & Mabel, and from my brother Easy.

Then one of my favorite peeps ever, Lydia, sent me all this fun fun stuffs.

Nellie Bellie (The Cat from Hell) made this for me.

I have received so so many cards in the mail and 8 more e-cards.

My friends you have made this the very best birthday EVER!  I love every card and gift.  Butt what I love most is I have so many friends.  If friends were green papers then I would be the most wealthy dog on the planet.  And you know what?  If I had to choose between all the green papers in the whole world or you my friends, I would choose you friends EVERY SINGLE TIME!  Thanks for stopping by my little birthday get together.  And as my thank you to each of you if you leave a little comment I have a gift for you.  Just a little somethin' to say thank you for walking this journey with me.

OH and one more thing.  Yesterday I did something very special.  I met Dr. Liz from Another Tequila Sunrise with Fi and Abby.  Dr. Liz also does photography and MOM and I met with her and she took like 87,000 photo of me.  I have not seen them all yet but Dr. Liz sent us this one.

Me and my MOM.
I wish all doggies and kitties could find and have a love like me and MOM do.  Thank you Dr. Liz.  I loved meeting you.  MOM and I will cherish your photos forever.  They mean so much to us.
Blessings,
Goose

Weimaraer Way

Hello Friends.

Another early Birthday gift arrived at my house yesterday.  My very own street sign!  I am forming a plan to replace the street sign on my road with this one.  MOM says we have to do in in the cover of darkness.  Otto and Howard are helping in the planning.  Otto Otter will be the lookout butt I am not so sure we can rely on Howard the Duck in this mission.  Note to self: plan first, drink later.

I hope you will all come over to my place on the 14th.  I am going to have a little get together to celebrate turning 15.  You all are invited.  There will be prizes to share with each of you.  I've seen and done a lot in my almost 15 years, butt I have to tell you being apart of Blogville is just one of the very best things in my life.  I hope you all will join me in celebrating.
